Terms and Conditions

  • Jill Irving RN(adult), RN(child), RM, RHV is permitted by the Nursing, Midwifery Board (NMB) to currently practice as a registered nurse for both adults and children and as a Registered Health Visitor. In doing so, Jill Irving is bound by the NMC’s  Code of Professional Conduct which sets out personal professional responsibility as a health professional to maintain professional standards at all times, to act lawfully in both personal and professional life.
  • Jill Irving is a member of the Royal College of Nursing (RCN), the Community Practioner and Health Visitor Association and also My Health Visitor who support a private health visiting service.
  • Jill Irving has full professional indemnity insurance to protect the client and Criminal Record Clearance (CRB).
  • Jill Irving’s charges are set in accordance with other private health visitors currently practising in England. There may occasionally be differences in pricing due to geographical location.
  • Charges are made for all consultations including home visits, clinic, and telephone and email contacts.
  • Invoices will be issued prior to, or as soon as practical after the commencement of each consultation.
  • Payment is due on receipt of an invoice. Further consultations may be withheld if previous invoices remain outstanding.
  • Where a package has been purchased 50% of the total package cost is to be paid when the first consultation has been completed, with the remaining 50% to be paid by the time the final visit has been completed.
  • Telephone or email consultation invoices will be issued at the end of each calendar month, detailing time spent on client support. All telephone and email packages must be paid for in advance.
  • Travel costs will be charged at the current NHS petrol rates. See costs for current details. The first 10 miles from central Norwich are included within the fee.
  • Missed appointments will be charged at the full agreed rate, unless 24 hours prior notice is given.
  • Home visits will be for a minimum of one hour, unless otherwise agreed beforehand.
  • If you, the client, have recently had involvement with a NHS health visitor, then it is good practice to inform them of Jill Irving’s private HV involvement.
  • Jill Irving will advise parents, as far as practical, of the current NHS health visiting services within the client’s area. Any advice and support offered by Jill Irving in no way replaces a diagnosis or recommendation from a General Practioner or Medical Consultant. NHS advice should always be accessed for ill health.
  • Jill Irving will keep confidential records on all clients for 10 years after the last entry and the client or carer may inspect the files by arrangement. Under the Data Protection Act 1998, Jill Irving’s name has been entered on the Data Protection Register as a “Data Controller”.
  • Jill Irving will undertake to maintain her clinical skills and knowledge by continuing with professional development and by regular supervision with other independent and NHS health visitors.

  • In some circumstances a locum health visitor may see the client with the client’s prior knowledge and agreement.
  • Jill Irving will only visit by prior arrangement. Normal working hours are between 9am until 5pm Monday to Friday.  Consultations outside of these hours, during evenings and week-ends will be considered without incurring any extra charge.
  • Telephone and email consultations are welcomed between 8am and 10pm 7 days a week. Any telephone call made between 10pm and 8am will be charged at double the standard rate.
